Stephen King’s Under the Dome gets TV treatment

Great news for Stephen King fans: his bestselling supernatural thriller, Under the Dome is going to be a television series! Dreamworks TV, Steven Spielberg, and Stephen King have teamed up to adapt this book to cable TV. Check out Variety‘s article “Showtime, Stephen King go ‘Under the Dome’” for more details.

Under the Dome is a novel that takes place in a small town that is suddenly enveloped by an invisible force field. Planes crash into it and rain down flaming wreckage. A gardener’s hand is severed as the dome descends. Cars explode on impact. Families are separated and panic mounts. No one can fathom what the barrier is, where it came from, and when—or if—it will go away. Now a few intrepid citizens, led by an Iraq vet turned short-order cook, face down a ruthless politician dead set on seizing the reins of power under the dome. But their main adversary is the dome itself. Because time isn’t just running short. It’s running out.

This is one of the most gripping, action-packed thrillers out there. If you haven’t read it yet, we suggest you get to it fast. But beware, once you pick it up, you won’t be able to put it down!

Check out what the reviews have to say about Under the Dome:

“This is a novel that will keep readers up all night, then haunt their dreams when they finally sleep. It is perhaps King’s finest novel since The Stand, and that’s just about the highest praise I can give. ” — The Globe and Mail

“If asked, I would definitely recommend this to a friend, regardless if they were a Stephen King fan or not. It is a great read and extremely thought provoking. After all, we all live on a dome rather than under a dome, and really, that’s just the same thing, isn’t it?” — The Hurley Edition

“This is King’s best novel since It, maybe since The Stand. Good thing he didn’t retire the word processor.” — The Star
